Can someone help me with this

Reposting this because I forgot to censor personal info the first time.

I feel like this is the best subreddit for this.
A few days ago, I seen somplace online that my phone camera can detect cosmic rays. The web article said it was due to the silicon structure of the phone camera. I use a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, which means my phone is not old. I decided to try this with rather high expectations. The main
thing that this app (CREDO Detector) told me was to cover the camera before starting. I used black electrical tape as it is both thin and doesn’t let light through. I wasn’t having any luck with this as nothing was detected within 20 minutes. I wonder if I was doing something wrong here, or if this cosmic ray detection thing is a lie.

Help would be greatly appreciated.
