North American Eclipse – better to travel to get more time, or stay home?

My town is on the path of totality with 2:45 minutes of totality expected. I am wondering if it is worth it to drive 50 miles away to get to get up to 4:20? I suspect traffic is going to be horrible, plus I would kind of like to see how my birds and squirrels and animals react to it? The last eclipse we had we was this past fall where we got to 90% totality. This one will be total and I am just not thinking it is worth to travel from home. Thoughts?
