Star size and nucleosynthesis question

A question over in r/chemistry asked about super heavy element creation in supernova, which reminded me of a question I’ve had for a while now. This seems like a much better place to ask…

Short version is, what’s the relationship between star size/fate and which elements are formed.

The question would be something like…

For each nuclear synthesis threshold, how big does the star need to be, and what is its fate.

Additional question for bonus credit – if the star size needed to create elements up to Fe suffer a violent fate, can that produce higher elements? Or if the threshold for the next stage must be the creation of Fe, tipping over into endothermic synthesis.
